About me and my therapy practice

If you’re struggling with something in your life that’s causing you pain or making you feel uncomfortable, talking about it can help. In an ideal world, we do this with friends or family.  Sometimes that doesn’t feel safe.  Everyone seems to have their own agenda or we fear that they will judge us and think of us differently, if we dare to be truly open about our thoughts and feelings.

I provide a safe, confidential, regular space for you to explore the feelings and concerns that are causing difficulty in your life. This space is filled with compassion, caring and warmth.  Most people experience a great relief in sharing their worries and fears with someone they can trust.

Our work together will support you in finding your own insights and empower you to be able to trust yourself and make your own decisions.

If you feel ready, let’s get started and work together to make positive changes in your life.

Besides my private practice, I manage a bereavement community counselling charity, offering brief focussed therapy for individuals experiencing difficulties with loss and grief.

I also have experience of working within a children's centre setting, mainly with parents, dealing with all kinds of issues, including post natal depression, domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, relationships, relocation and migration, terminal illness, job loss and bereavement

I have a Diploma in Autogenic training, accredited by the British Autogenic Society and have been teaching this well researched self-help technique for stress and stress related illnesses and difficulties since 2001. In 2018 I was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the British Autogenic Society

Practice description

In the current social distancing situation, my practice is mainly online by Zoom

I have undertaken additional training to be able to transition my practice to create a warm. safe space for both myself and my clients in an online setting

I am also able to offer a limited number of walk and talk therapy sessions in a local park. My background in personal training means I have additional professional liability insurance to cover walking in the outdoors.

My first session

The first session will be for us to discuss what your hopes are from therapy and how life might be different for you at the end of our work together.  It will also give you an opportunity to decide if you think you might feel comfortable working towards those goals with me.

Each session including the first session is 50 mins and is at the same professional fee as all other sessions.
