About me and my therapy practice

About me and my therapy practice

Hi my name is Claire. I am a fully qualified member of the BACP with extensive experience. I provide therapy on a one to one basis and clinical supervision both on a one to one basis and in groups.

I have extensive experience working with individuals, groups and young people. I offer short and long-term counselling.

I believe that every individual has the potential for growth. As a Person Centred Integrative Counsellor I work collaboratively with you to assist in identifying the areas of your life you wish to explore, improve or change.

I will provide a supportive relationship creating a safe space for exploring feelings, thoughts and experiences. I believe the therapeutic process can help you to form greater insight and understanding, along with greater self-awareness and emotional growth.  My clients often highlight how therapy has left them feeling freer which leads to more choices, achieving a greater sense of balance and fulfilment. I endeavour to build a relationship where you feel accepted for who you are.

Within my private practice I offer supervision and provide short and long term counselling and work with local and national Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP).

I also work part-time as a Counselling Tutor teaching on a BA Counselling Degree at a local University and as a part time supervisor for a local Rape Crisis service. Prior to this, I worked within the NHS as a Clinical Lead in an IAPT service for a number of years.

I have a special interest in trauma, having worked for Rape Crisis. I also have extensive experience of working with people who present with a number of issues such as work related stress, grief, relationship issues and low self esteem.  I have also worked with people who present with a number of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and PTSD.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi my name is Claire. I am a fully registered member of the BACP with extensive experience. I provide clinical supervision on a one to one basis and in a group setting. I offer person centred integrative supervision including elements of CBT, psychotherapy, TA and Gestalt. I pay particular attention to processes and embodied responses. I specialise in working with trauma (in particular rape and sexual abuse) and the impact this can have on therapists.  I recognise the important of self care.

I aim to work with you to identify your needs and to establish a pattern and style of supervision appropriate to you. I am committed to regularly reviews with you to ensure your potentially changing needs are being met and ongoing growth is encouraged.
