My first session
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a psychological treatment that helps in disputing peoples negative beliefs by challenging their thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
The initial session is used to assess your suitability to proceed with therapy.
CBT is a collaborative process so we will work together to:
- Identify problem areas
- Plan a structured way forward
- Agree practical objectives
- Reduce/alleviate presenting issues
The success of CBT depends on your active participation throughout the duration of the therapy, as such, commitment is essential.
The duration of therapy is governed by the issues presented, usually the sessions are weekly and each session will last one hour.
