About me and my therapy practice
Over the years I have adapted my way of working through experience, my humanistic approach I feel is something clients appreciate and works for our sessions. You the client are the one that sets the pace and how we both move forward in session, its client driven and thats what counselling is all about. We all feel nervous about new situations, but don't be! I welcome clients as I do everyone with genuine respect and and offer a friendly space to talk.
My practice is based in Lymington in a purpose built cabin. Im easily reached by public transport and have parking available. Counselling is normally a 50 minute session once a week, sessions are available at the weekend. Payment is by bank transfer, monthly or weekly as we go along, and you will receive invoices and receipts for all payments. The contents of your sessions are completely confidential, are not shared socially with anyone. I consult professionals with a supervisor in order to maintain the quality of my work, and when I do this I will always maintain your anonymity. I also adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework which you can read more about on the BACP website. Please see my website or get in touch with me if you would like any more
As a counsellor I have worked in the voluntary and private sectors, which included working for a charitable organisation (Life Changes) where I worked with clients with all manner of issues.
During these testing times its more important than ever to offer a space where people feel confident in their counsellor and the setting and that's something Im able to offer. Please feel free to contact me for an initial 20 minute phone consultation which is free.
My first session
Please feel free to call, or email. At the moment my sessions are mostly conducted throug Zoom which is similar to Skype, our sessions will still be 50 minutes but at a reduced rate of £25. Zoom is still a medium which you can explore your thoughts and feelings and you still get time with your counsellor, just not face to face in my cabin. We can still have the usual session and further sessions can be booked as we go along.
