About me and my therapy practice

Struggling to make sense of your thoughts, feelings or behaviours? As a fully qualified & registered therapist, I can help you understand. I offer online counselling & psychotherapy to adolescents & young adults, & walking therapy to anyone 16yrs +.

I offer a professional, friendly service with a focus on working with depression and low mood, anxiety, including social anxiety, suicidal feelings, intrusive thoughts, low self esteem and negative body image, and trauma, including sexual abuse (past/current).

Practice description

In a confidential, non-judgemental space, I will work with you to try and make things better, while understanding that ‘better’ looks different to everyone. I studied an integrative approach so I can work with you as an individual, combining different therapies to suit your needs. This is because I don't believe one type of therapy fits all, I therefore work with a lot of people for who cognitive behaviour therapy hasn't been the correct fit.

I work in a non-directive way which means I won't just tell you what to do. We will work together so you feel in control and empowered by therapy.

Experience:

I work in private practice and I am employed by a sixth form college to provide counselling to adolescents.

I have also provided counselling in the charity sector and at a rape and sexual abuse service.

Before counselling, I worked for the Samaritans for over four years. It was during this time I realised the healing power of truly being listened to and believed by another person.

My first session

Reaching out to take the next step may feel difficult, but finding the right support really can change your life. This is why I offer a free 15 minute consultation before the first session so we can speak before you make a commitment.

I also appreciate this may not be your first time reaching out and you may have felt let down by past experiences. This is why providing an honest and transparent service is so important to me. I offer a genuine, authentic and caring environment, and the consultation can explore any previous problems with counsellors/mental health services.

If you are a parent who is worried about their teen, you can enquire on their behalf initially to find out whether I could help support them. I would then offer them the consultation to see if they wanted to work together.

To arrange the free initial consultation, you can ring or email me and hopefully we can start working towards making things feel better.
