About me and my therapy practice
You may find that you have done your best to survive the struggle that life has brought you and you have adapted to the circumstances surrounding you. Perhaps you need help navigating difficult feelings around the past; you may have experienced loss, or you are finding that similar patterns of behaviours keep repeating. You may feel that you have got to a point in your life where you feel you need support in exploring these different elements of yourself, working through what is and isn’t useful to you anymore allowing you to move forward. Understanding yourself more and how you react to situations can help facilitate change, which can create new meaning in your life.
Coming to therapy can be a bit like sorting through a difficult jigsaw puzzle; the pieces can be tipped out and sorted through together, working out what parts link up, which bits feel like they might be missing, what parts you would prefer to change or not be there, and what all this might mean as you create the picture and story of the life you have and the life you want. I enjoy working creatively, using imagery and metaphor, and so in looking at the pieces of the puzzle together and exploring your experiences of both the past and the present, and how they intertwine, we will explore your feelings and felt senses in the body about significant events that make up your life.
Therapy is a place for you to bring all the parts of yourself, some of which may have had to remain hidden for a long time or may even feel shameful to bring.
Practice description
You can expect a warm, relational and non-judgemental approach when we work together. I work in an integrative way, combining different modes of practice to find what best suits you and the issues you are facing. It would be my pleasure to hear your story and how you relate to yourself and the world around you.
