About me
Safespace Counselling Durham
My name is Sarah and I am the Counsellor at Safespace Counselling Durham. I work with children, young people and adults. My office is based at Easington Colliery, however, I also offer online, telephone and walk and talk therapy if you feel conventional counselling is not for you.
session information
The work I do is intergrative meaning that I use a range of methods and techniques to help you with your presenting issues. Counselling can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience allowing you to understand your behaviours and find solutions to your issues through challenging your thoughts and behaviours, learning and practicing coping methods and building emotional resilience.
In sessions, I often use creative aids to help in the work we do, such as painting, using stones, Lego building or playing games. This helps when processing information and can give visual representation to the emotions we are feeling.
All sessions are based in a mutually agreed safe space, and everything shared in session is kept between yourself and I, within the bounds of confidentiality and its limitations.
Accessing counselling for yourself or your child can be a daunting process and I want to make your experience as smooth and beneficial as possible.
