About me and my therapy practice
I have an informal approach in my work. I believe that building a relationship is central, as from that comes the safety, trust and mutual understanding needed to enable personal exploration and to unlock the potential for emotional release and change.
Before meeting a client I have no preconceived ideas about what may be needed or wanted in terms of numbers of sessions or the depth of the work, and feel that this discussion forms an integral part of the therapy.
I work from home, in clients' homes or by phone, and I feel that this provides a more therapeutic environment for my approach than a clinical office based environment would. However, I maintain strong boundaries regarding timing of sessions and contact outside of sessions as I believe that this enables a sense of emotional safety and containment which is essential.
