About me and my therapy practice

I'm a specialist in infant-parent, children's and young people's emotional and mental health issues. Child & adolescent psychotherapy is a way of helping children, adolescents and parents, who are experiencing difficulties with emotions and behaviour.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on the roots of the troubled feelings and worries, rather than addressing only the symptoms.

Child psychotherapists are skilled in the use of play and talking in order to communicate with children & young people. We are trained in the use of observation and interpretation of their play to make sense of and to understand the children’s play and behaviour. By linking the play & behaviours with the child’s troubled thoughts and feelings, which are at the root cause, this allows them to be expressed & so alleviated, instead of being acted out in behaviour.

Following the first parent consultation and initial assessment, the child is seen an weekly in a face to face, child-led and relaxed setting. The process of child psychotherapy is when a child and parents meet regularly with a specialist to get support with ongoing difficulties and learn to manage difficulties better.

I am registered with & accredited by the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

I have a Masters degree in Psychology and French from the University of St Andrews & a Pg.Dip in Child & Adolescent Psychodynamic Psychotherapy & Counselling from Birkbeck, University of London.

My practice is in Kew, Richmond, TW9 . Please contact me for rates. I am able to accept the following insurers: AXA, AVIVA, BUPA Global (but not BUPA UK) & CIGNA.
