About me and my therapy practice
There are moments in everybody's life that can feel difficult and overwhelming; where we struggle to understand what is happening but know that something doesn't feel right.
Maybe we're left feeling anxious or uncertain in ourselves; struggling with relationships in our life, or a life event such as bereavement or divorce has left us feeling unable to cope. Maybe this has been an issue we've been aware of for years but feel that now is the time to finally deal with it. This is where therapy can help.
How can I help you?
The aim of my approach is to help you understand, make sense of, and resolve your issues in order to allow you to live a happier and more fulfilling life. This is done in a safe and containing environment where we can explore your concerns at a pace that is right for you.
I believe that many of our current worries and problems can be explained by the past as well as the here and now. Whether that be past events and relationships that are still impacting on the present, or ways we have learnt to deal with the past potentially still impacting on how we deal with the present. By focusing on these areas we can work towards alleviating the impact they are having on you now.
I work both short term, which will focus on a specific issue, as well as more open-ended if it is felt that there are several areas that you need support with. This can be discussed in an initial meeting.
