About me and my therapy practice
Hi, thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Victoria and I am an Accredited Therapist, with over 10 years’ counselling experience. The main focus of my training, and my work with clients comes from the principles of the Person-Centred approach and Gestalt Therapy. When the therapeutic relationship is established and if appropriate and okay with you, I use different tools and techniques from other theories to help you.
I have extensive experience working within charity organisations, privately and in Primary care settings, I also have experience in working with women and girls who have survived domestic and gender-based violence.
I work with varying problems, such as depression, anxiety, bereavement & loss, relationship issues , self-esteem &confidence and trauma. Nonetheless, if it’s a problem for you, then it matters.
As a person-centred therapist I believe in putting you at the centre of the work, I will listen to you as you tell your story. My aim is to get to know and understand you, with the belief that the best way to empower and help someone is tapping into their strengths and wisdom within.
I look at you as an individual, I don't try to fit you into a box. Through giving you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, we can begin to learn and process what hurts you and how, together we can help make it better for you, by addressing and resolving emotions attached to past events, in the here and now.
