About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist. My specialist areas are working with anxiety and depression, past traumas and family issues.

I am fully qualified having both a PGDip in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and a Masters in Psychotherapy. I am a member of both the BACP and UKCP  and practice under their code of ethics. Prior to retraining as a psychotherapist I worked as a clinician in the NHS. This has given me the experience of working with a wide range of people with different physical and mental health problems and a strong grounding in the ethics of responsible practice.

I work with an integrated style that is psychodynamically based and tailored for each client's needs. Cognitive behavioural therapy and systemic therapy are  some methods that I incorporate as required. I undergo regular further training as part of continually developing and strengthening my practice.

Current research shows that the key to successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client. With this in mind I suggest that we have an initial phone conversation to touch on what has lead you to seek counselling. Then I would suggest we have an initial assessment session to gain a further understanding of your situation and allow us to decide whether we would like to continue working together.

Fiveways Therapy Rooms are located at 360b Ditching Road, right next door to St Mathias church. The rooms are centrally located and easily accessible from Brighton town centre. Buses 26 and 46 stop right outside. Ditchling Road is straight off the A27 making travel easy from Hove, Portslade, Shoreham, Ditchling, Lewes and other surrounding towns. Parking is on-street metered - or free just two streets away. I also work in Hove and offer the option of skype or telephone counselling.
