About me and my therapy practice
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I aim to provide empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard in our sessions.
This allows you to feel accepted and supported, no matter what you bring to the table. Through our sessions, we will work together to better understand your unique perspective and to help you feel heard and understood. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or anything else, I am committed to helping you find understanding and to live a happier, more fulfilling life.
In addition to traditional sessions in the counselling room, I also offer the option of walk & talk therapy and online counselling as a convenient and accessible option for those who may not have the time or ability to meet in person.
In a person-centred counselling session, the focus is on the individual and their unique thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The counsellor creates a safe and non-judgmental space for the individual to explore and process their emotions, and to work towards their own goals and solutions.
During the session, I will actively listen and offer support, while also challenging you to think more deeply about your feelings and experiences. The goal is to help you better understand yourself and your emotions, and to empower you to make positive changes in your life. The pace and direction of the session is led by you, and I will follow your lead and help you to stay focused on the issues that are most important to you. There is no set agenda or script, and you are free to discuss whatever is on your mind.
My first session
During our first session together we can talk about what brings you to counselling, whether you've been through it before and what your expectations are from me and from the sessions. I offer a reduced rate for the first session as it's important for me that you as a client get an opportunity to experience Person-Centred Counselling first-hand, before committing to working together in the longer-term.
There is no medical form or tracking data to fill out, just a short counselling agreement that I'll send to you beforehand and we can discuss during the session. This allows us both to have clear and explicit boundaries for what's to be expected of the sessions and our working relationship.
