About me and my therapy practice
I can provide a space for you to explore personal issues troubling you, online via Zoom (or similar). As well as providing counselling on a range of issues, I specialise in trauma, which could be related to events from your childhood, in later life, or both. I can help you better understand what is causing your symptoms, how you can start to alleviate these inner torments and hopefully heal those hurt parts of you.
My early work, from 2012, was as a bereavement support worker, later fully qualifying as a counsellor in 2017 (diploma level), with Person Centred and Psychodynamic models at the core of my training. From experience and additional ongoing training, I’ve evolved to be an integrative counsellor, which means that I encompass various approaches in how I work. This has included a higher diploma qualification in trauma counselling, applying a structured recovery model, which I tailor to meet client’s needs.
Compassion is at the centre of how I work to support you along your journey, wherever that may take you.
To ensure that I can provide a safe and ethical practice online, I completed an Association for Counselling & Therapy Online (ACTO) approved counselling course in 2020.
Availability – early evenings, Monday to Thursday
I work online, over Zoom or similar, with the benefit of enabling clients to have sessions from the comfort of their own home. If this doesn’t feel right for you, please consider alternative face to face options with another counsellor.
Clients will receive a counselling agreement and contract, which includes a privacy notice related to how I manage client’s data on line, to meet General Date Protection Regulations.
My first session
There is no charge for initial contact, by email / phone, in which to establish if I am able to provide the counselling service that you need. I will then arrange a fuller assessment session with you, at a charge of £25. There is no obligation to continue with sessions if at this stage you decide not to go ahead.
Weekly sessions will then be at a charge of £40, with you in control of how long you want to continue for. We will always be working towards an ending; therefore, at the first session we will work together to determine what length of therapy may be appropriate for you (with the knowledge that this can obviously change along the way).
