About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor, specialising in working one-to-one with clients who have anxiety and health-related issues, due to my nursing background and ongoing counselling work with cancer patients and their families.

My counselling approach is integrative (tailoring counselling to the client's individual needs and circumstances) enabling me to offer my client flexibility and respond in the moment in a way that is going to support my client the most.

Additionally, I offer hypnotherapy, Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT), and OldPain2Go.

Are Talking Therapies for you?

Do you feel it's a struggle to get through your day, perhaps noticing your heart racing or a dry mouth at the thought of that meeting, or avoiding socialising  as it feels too stressful?

Are you finding it difficult to cope emotionally with a chronic illness, tending to focus upon what you can't do, and feeling bogged down?

Have you had a cancer diagnosis and are struggling to get your head around it, or perhaps you've finished treatment and are finding it difficult to cope?

If any of these are questions that you have found yourself answering yes to, then be assured of a professional, non-judgemental, confidential space to explore your concerns, and help you to feel that you are able to cope better in your daily life and feel you can smile once more

Practice description

I am currently offering counselling online (via zoom) and by phone, as well as face-to-face (f2f) counselling from my specially adapted therapy room in Whitefield, North Manchester.

For f2f counselling - Due to working with vulnerable people, I request all clients to do a lateral flow test at home, prior to coming to each appointment. We are able to socially distance in the room, and the room will be ventilated.

Counselling session are 60 minutes in length

Fees: £50 per face to face session

           £45 per online/telephone session

All fees payable by BACS transfer

My first session

I am happy to chat with you by phone or via a 15-minute complimentary zoom session prior to arranging your first appointment. This is an opportunity to chat with you about what has brought you to counselling, what your expectations are and to discuss how I can be of help to you.

Prior to our first session I will send out my Client-Therapist Agreement to clients to sign, and there will be an opportunity to discuss this, and you will receive a copy.

 "Getting to know you"

I like to call our first counselling session the "getting to know you" session, as we begin to explore in more detail the issues that you have been struggling with, and to get a sense of who you are, as well as for you to get a feel of how we can work together.
