About me and my therapy practice
I work within a person centred model, meaning your needs are at the heart of our therapeutic work together. Exploring what brings you to counselling, exploring in the here and now at your pace, tailored to your needs. I will listen to what matters to you. I believe you are your own expert.
I offer a safe, nurturing and non judgmental environment in which you are able to explore any issues without judgement or shame. I will listen and try my best to understand what it is like to be you, to see things from your perspective, understanding you and trying to communicate that emphatic understanding to you to help you understand yourself.
I will bring myself a warm, approachable and genuine person to the relationship focused on you in an emphatic and accepting way.
I offer online or face to face counselling in my private and welcoming counselling garden room. There are no passers by so you won’t be overheard. Anything that is discussed is confidential (except in a few circumstances that we will discuss)
As a counsellor I have both a legal and ethical duty to protect my clients confidentiality at all times. This extends to basic personal data as well as more sensitive personal information that is inevitably shared during the course of therapy.
I comply with the ethical and professional standards set out by the BACP.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute telephone call to see if you feel you think we might be a good fit to work together.
If you chose to go ahead in the first session we will discuss your expectations. I will also explain confidentiality,fees and any boundaries.
We would usually meet weekly or fortnightly at a pre arranged time.
