I work Monday to Thursday all year round and sometimes on a Sunday or Friday. I also have evening appointments.

About me and my therapy practice

Thank you for viewing my profile. I am a qualified and experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with a proven track record of helping people work through all kinds of problems.  I have an MA in integrative counselling (with Merit) from Manchester University and draw on a range of theoretical approaches to create a therapy approach that is individually tailored for you. One of my specialities is Compassion Focussed Therapy which is especially good if you are self-critical or suffer from low self-worth or self-esteem. I have over 20 years experience in the mental health field, am an Anxiety UK approved therapist and have worked successfully with many clients from diverse backgrounds experiencing a range of issues. I also have experience providing support and therapy to members of an employee assistance program.

The current climate may be bringing up feelings of anxiety, depression or overwhelm. You may be stressed, worried about your health or that of your loved ones, struggling with work, relationships or having difficulty envisaging the future. Maybe you want to find a way to cope with the ‘new normal’. These are all issues that we can explore together.

Practice description

To keep everyone safe during the pandemic I am working remotely by either Zoom , Skype or telephone. Many clients have told me that they prefer this, as it gives them more flexibility and cuts out travel time. Video therapy works well, however, if shyness or poor body image are issues for you, then you may find that telephone counselling makes it easier for you to open up and get the maximum benefit from therapy. The other big advantage is that you can contact me from wherever you are and we will be able to work together even if geographically distant.

My first session

I offer a 10 minute free chat before our first session to give you a chance to ask any general questions you may have about the counselling. I will take your email address and send you a counselling contract. In the first session I will answer any questions you may have about this and do some initial assessments. In the remaining time we will start to explore the issues that have brought you to therapy.
