About me and my therapy practice

About Me

As a qualified, registered and experienced Integrative Counsellor my approach is from a humanistic perspective, which focuses on personal growth enabling a person to think about their feelings and take responsibility for their thoughts and actions. I have counselled for over 12years in a variety of settings. I work with adults, young people, couples, families and groups. My fees are: Young people under 18yrs £40, Individuals £55, Couples £75, Families £85, Groups £95. Payment is made via cash, card or BACs (if the latter two is being used, payment must be made in advance). I am available for counselling sessions day times, evenings and Saturdays. I provide face-to-face, telephone and zoom counselling to suit your needs. And I have a team of counsellors you can choose from.

How can Counselling help?

Counselling offers a safe, confidential space to discuss anything you want to. It is with someone neutral who can be objective and empathic. Counselling allows you to offload how you may be feeling and empowers you to re-gain control of your life. It is important to remember counselling is a different experience for everyone and it is imperative that you feel comfortable with your counsellor. The therapeutic relationship is the vehicle for counselling; make sure you find the right person for you.

My first session

What to Expect

Prior to the first session you will a 10-15 minute assessment call to arrange our first assessment/counselling session and to see who is most suitable to work with you. We then ask for your email to send you the counselling contract (an agreement between us about the counselling process) which you can sign online. The first session is an 'getting to know each other session'. We will decide together whether we can work together and what your goals for therapy are. We will aim to meet weekly for 50 minutes per session at a time agreed by both of us. We offer short and long term therapy; we will explore your thought processes, emotions and patterns of behaviour. We will look at solutions together, if appropriate to do so. How long you continue in therapy is a choice between us and we review this throughout the counselling process, at every sixth session.
