About me and my therapy practice
At times, we can feel overwhelmed by the events and demands facing us in life, or we might struggle to move on from a trauma or loss that has happened to us in our past. Psychotherapeutic Counselling can help to unravel the patterns we are caught in and I believe that talking through, can help us to untangle and understand the things that are holding us back in order to find new ways of coping and moving forwards in life.
I work with anxiety and panic, depression, addiction recovery, OCD, stress, trauma, family and relational issues, low self-esteem, phobias, health problems, infertility, grief+loss.
Or perhaps you don’t know what is wrong but you just don’t quite feel like yourself, I can help to explore to see what might be going on for you to help you find yourself again.
I understand what you are going through. After my own experience of health problems and anxiety, I too sought Psychotherapy, and it was within my own experience of the process that I came to see how the changes really do happen and that despite our past, we can create a new future.
I truly believe we all have the ability to be the best versions of ourselves.
I’m an integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, with a focus on Transactional Analysis, qualified to work with adults, children, and adolescents.
You might wonder what is the difference between a counsellor and a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. The terms are often used interchangeably, but we tend to train for longer (3years) and as a result, as well as short-term therapy, we often work with more complex clients or those who want to have longer-term therapy.
Alongside my work as a Psychotherapist, I am the Chairperson of Daisy Network Charity, for women with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency, providing medical and psychological support through the diagnosis.

The first session is a chance for us to see if we are the right fit for eachother. The relationship is so very important in therapy, so I want you to feel like I am the correct therapist for you.
This session tends to be more of an information gathering session where I will get to know you, your history, and the problem that has brought you to seek a counsellor. I will also go through some contractual and confidentiality documents so tht you know exactly what therapy with myself will entail.

About me and my therapy practice
Children/Adolescents
As a former teacher and qualified Child and Adolescent counsellor, I understand the challenges faced by children and young people at school and at home.
I am passionate that children deserve the same respect and emotional intelligence as an adult and it’s so important not to dismiss their feelings. What may seem menial to an adult, might be so very important to a young person.
As a parent or guardian, you might have noticed that your child has had a behavioural change, whether they have become withdrawn or clingy, increased violence, or started having new issues with sleeping, eating, or school avoidance. Or you might have been informed by school that your child is struggling with learning, friendships, bullying or behaviour. It can often be hard to pinpoint what is going on for your child especially when they mightn’t even know themselves.
With children under 15, it’s usually necessary to work in-person in the room. Children often struggle to express thoughts and feelings, so sitting and talking isn’t always the best way. I use a variety of creative techniques to subtly explore and understand what is going on for the child/teen, and then work together to alleviate the problem.
I work with anxiety, low mood, behavioural issues, OCD, phobias, separation and attachment issues, familial and friendship problems, ADHD and Autism, and loneliness.
