About me and my therapy practice

Hello!

My name is Ralf.

If you are reading this, chances are that you are in a place and time in your life where you are searching for some support. This can be a daunting, even scary moment and it requires a little brave-heartedness to acknowledge this and take the next step. I want to encourage you to take that step and make contact.

I am a trained integrative counsellor and member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Over the years I have found that the person centred approach is the most helpful, to allow me to work with a wide range of issues and individuals. In addition to my training, I have over 30 years of experience in mindfulness and contemplative practice. Both this training and practice work well together to help me deliver a beneficial therapy to my clients.

I offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, challenges and emotions. This space will help you to find your own understanding of what is going on for you. The aim of my work is for you to find, or reconnect with your resilience and refresh your resourcefulness, through finding meaning in a difficult time.

This exploration can be done face-to-face in the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in a therapy room in Longtown, in North Cumbria, or over the phone or online via Zoom.

I am trained as a Death Doula and can offer support for people in the last phase of their lives.

Practice description

PLease note: Covid-19 Restrictions and online counselling:

An alternative to meeting in person as a counselling client is to connect online. More and more counselling clients are choosing this option. Especially in the present circumstance, due to Covid-19 restrictions, online counselling has experience a surge in users.

Online counselling can be an attractive option because you will not have to travel anywhere and don't have to spend any time doing so. It is an easy and safe way to connect and when you get used to the screen face-to- face time, it can be a very effective way to do counselling.

You can choose to participate with me by telephone alone or better still, by video camera.

I use Doxy.me and the advantage is that it doesn't involve downloads from your side.

Doxy.me is really one of the best and most popular options available.  They were designed specifically for Tele-Health.  There are no downloads – just send a link to your client via email and they are directly entered into an encrypted online office.

If you are interested in working with me in this way and if you have any questions at all, please do get in touch and we can discuss your options.
