About me and my therapy practice
At times everyday life can seem overwhelming and we can feel stuck, low and anxious. You may be experiencing challenges in the present or ongoing issues from the past.
Reaching out for support at this time can feel like a big step but can be extremely beneficial for your health and well-being.
Our sessions may help you to cope with feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, over-thinking and intrusive thoughts. They can help you learn to prioritise yourself more highly and be more confident in your approach.
Through our sessions we can explore your difficult feelings, look at where they come from, and how they impact your everyday life. We can look at new ways to cope and move forward in a calmer, more positive way.
The basis of my therapy is Person Centred, believing the client knows what is best for them and has it within them to grow and develop in a positive direction. I also integrate tools from the solution-focused approach to help implement new techniques and strategies to aid progress moving forward.
(Please note, all correspondence will be made via email, I am not in a position to offer text therapy or respond via text or telephone.)
Practice description
I can offer a course of therapy sessions, or Single Session therapy depending on your needs and requirements.
Sessions are available online via Zoom, Whereby or WhatsApp video. This way of working has proven to be accessible and convenient, however, audio only sessions are also available for those less comfortable with video sessions.
(As my sessions are remote, they are accessible to anyone in the UK.)
(Please note, all correspondence will be made via email, I am not in a position to offer text therapy or respond via text or telephone.)
My first session
All sessions last up to 50 mins.
Courses of therapy
During your first session, we will explore your reasons for seeking therapy at this time. We can explore your ideal goals and outcomes, and look at what you would like to be different as a direct result of our time together.
It is also an opportunity to decide whether you feel comfortable in moving forward with further sessions, and whether you feel I am the right counsellor for you. We can then look at a course of therapy and what you feel would work best for you. This may be weekly or fortnightly sessions.
Single Session therapy
Single session therapy is exactly that, a one off session, without commitment to long term therapy or any further sessions. This does not mean that further sessions are not available to you if you choose to access them, it means that if you're looking to dip your toe into therapy or need to off load, or explore one specific issue, this is an option available to you.
Please feel free to contact me for further information on either of these options.
