About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited practitioner with twenty years’ experience in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. Over this time, I have been a volunteer, worked in the third sector and in academia, alongside running a private practice. I now offer a virtual service to my clients, via MS Teams or on the phone.
The counselling I offer…
Humanistic/Person-Centred Counselling
Person or client-centred therapy is based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change. The focus in the counselling session will be you, to help you come to terms with any negative feelings and to change and develop in your own way.
Practice description
As the client you will be the one to set the agenda of our sessions. This means the session's focus will be what you choose, but I will be there to assist you to find this focus.
Person-centred therapy tends to focus on an individual's self-worth and values. Being valued as a person, without being judged, can help an individual to accept who they are, and reconnect with themselves.

I am happy to have an initial 15-minute chat, free of charge, to answer any questions you may have, and to look over contractual requirements.

Practice description
The main task of supervision is to work together to ensure and develop efficacy in the practitioner/client relationship. This will include exploration of your practice, your theoretical understanding, and your self-development. Supervision is needed to avoid burnout, to enhance competence and skills, and to safeguard your clients.
The goal for supervision is to help develop the ‘internal supervisor’ and encourage the autonomy of the practitioner. Enabling the partitioner to work within safe boundaries; ethical and professional. To help restore, replenish and promote the development of your way of working with clients.
As your supervisor;
1. I will aim to support, develop and monitor your counselling practice.
2. I aim to work with respect and authenticity.
3. I will ensure regular review and space for feedback.
