About me and my therapy practice
Welcome!
I know how daunting it can be to start counselling, but a strong and supportive therapist can really make a huge difference to your life and well-being.
In our work together I can:
Enable you to become more curious about yourself
Help you make sense of your feelings or find out why you are not feeling
Give you a different lens through which to see your relationships and life
Help you to explore and accept those parts of yourself you may not like
Turn off that critical voice in your head so you can be more forgiving and kinder to yourself
Give you the skills and confidence to feel stronger and more resilient in challenging situations
Gently challenge you when appropriate
Our work together will help you make sense of your inner world so you can gain a clearer sense of who you really are, giving you greater insight and perspective so you can find out what you want from your relationships and life.
Because I know it can take time to find the right therapist, we can have an initial 20minute call so you can tell me what brings you to counselling, and you can find out more about how I work and ask me any questions you may have. Then if you feel comfortable and ready to have a first session we can decide how best to work together.
I work in Barnet which has easy links to public transport. I provide time limited, short term and open-ended sessions. I offer both daytime and evening appointments and concessionary rates for those people on no or low income.
As a fully qualified, integrative therapist I bring together a range of different approaches to suit the personality, style and situation of each client. I am warm and down to earth, professional and supportive, curious and challenging. I won’t sit there and just listen without engaging with you. I offer you a safe, non- judgemental space to talk freely about what is troubling you.
My first session
Assessment Sessions
Our first two sessions together are called the Assessment Phase: during these discussions I will find out more about what brings you to counselling, take a thorough life history and finally explore what changes you want to make in your life
We will work together but you are an active partner rather than a passive recipient in our sessions, so the more you engage and participate, the more you will learn about yourself.
