About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Ruth and I know how daunting it can be to begin counselling, but a strong and supportive therapist really can make a huge difference to your life and well-being.
Here are 7 ways I can help you:
I can build a strong and trusting relationship with you
Enable you to feel heard and understood
Make sense of your feelings or understand why you are not feeling
Enable you to become more curious about yourself
When appropriate gently challenge you
Give you a different lens through which to see your relationships and life
Feel stronger and more resilient in challenging situations
We will work together to explore your current difficulties, looking at them through a new lens to give you greater insight and perspective. This will help you gain a clearer sense of who you really are, and what you want out of your relationships and life. Because I know it can take time to find the right therapist, we can initially talk on the phone so you can tell me about what brings you to counselling and it will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Then if appropriate, we can decide how best to work together.
I offer time limited, short term and open-ended sessions, you decide how long you want to be in therapy for. I work in Barnet and Farringdon both with easy links to public transport. I offer both daytime and evening appointments.
I am a fully qualified, integrative therapist, which means I bring together a range of different theoretical and practical approaches. I tailor my approach and style to suit the personality and situation of each client. I am warm and down to earth, professional and supportive, curious and challenging. I won’t sit there and listen without engaging with you. I offer you a safe, non- judgemental space to talk freely about what is troubling you.
