About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life can feel "too much". Are you feeling stuck and not sure how to move forward? If you are in that place of overwhelm, counselling can help you to talk through your feelings. I am not here to give advice but to listen without judgement, something which can be difficult to find when confiding in friends or family.
Counselling can help you to explore who you are and learn skills to cope with struggles that life can bring,
I offer counselling to adults and teenagers (aged 16+).
Practice description
I am a qualified Integrative counsellor which means I use various approaches including Person-Centred, CBT, Existential and Psychodynamic approaches. I will work with you as an individual and adapt according to your needs. I believe the relationship between client and counsellor is an important part of healing. You are not alone and I am here to sit alongside you whilst you heal in a safe environment.
I am qualified to provide face to face counselling and also telephone and online (Zoom) sessions.
I work as a face to face counsellor in a college with young adults and provide online and telephone counselling for a charity with a diverse range of clients.
I previously volunteered for North Kent Mind as part of the wellbeing team and also assisted with a mindfulness course.
I also have experience working with young carer's and children with disabilities.
My first session
I understand what a big step it can be to reach out for counselling, having experienced taking that first step for counselling myself.
Feel free to text, email or leave a voicemail and I will contact you by your preferred method.
I offer a free initial telephone consultation to discuss your needs and it gives you the opportunity to decide if I am the right counsellor for you and I can answer any questions you may have.
The first session entails gathering information about what has brought you to therapy, any goals you may have, completing some paperwork and getting to know you. If you feel we are a good fit we will start therapy, however you may decide you need time to think about if you would like to proceed with me and that is absolutely fine. It can be difficult to talk about your feelings and share your thoughts, so it is important you feel comfortable and we can create a trusting relationship. The first session will give you an idea of how it will be to work with me.
