About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with 6½ years and 700 hours of counselling experience. I am also someone with many very varied life experiences, including being a university lecturer, a prison teacher and the father and carer of a child with autism and severe learning difficulties.
I am also a Main Grade Lecturer (0.5) in Counselling for at Liverpool City College.
I firmly believe in the benefits of counselling, the positive impacts it can have on people's lives. I also believe counselling should be made more accessible, provided at more affordable rates than are customary. We should all have the opportunity to be able to access therapy to help alleviate distress and to turn our lives around.
My particular areas of expertise are addictions, anger, loss and bereavement, PTSD, long-term and enduring mental health issues, living with disability and problems associated with being a full-time carer. I have first-hand experience, personal or professional, of addressing all these matters.
I offer concessionary rates of £25 per hour for low-wage earners and £20 for carers, low-wage earners and people receiving benefits.
