About me and my therapy practice
Intuitive Eating and Psychotherapy challenges and disregards the negative and controlling beliefs about how your diet, body and life "should" be. You will experience mental, emotional and physical freedom once you choose to engage in this effective and authentic way to perceive food and yourself.
You will re-connect with that easy and peaceful relationship to food, exercise and yourself that you were born with and which suits you. Clients have found that this work has an overwhelmingly positive effect on not only their eating and movement but all areas of their lives. Self-confidence, work, anxiety, depression and relationships are alleviated and transformed by the regained sense of calm, peace and re-invigoration that intuitive eating and psychotherapy provides.
Maladaptive Daydreaming is a coping mechanism developed by individuals as a strategy to deal with loneliness, trauma and other difficult emotions and environments. Individuals engage in excessive and addictive daydreaming to the point where it interferes with their daily lives and self-care. I work with those who suffer with this addiction to help them understand it and help them engage more fully with their lives without the need to escape into a fantasy world.
Erin Gallagher: Intuitive Eating and Psychotherapy
I am a BACP registered psychotherapist and Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor. I have a Masters Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am a qualified Intuitive Eating Counsellor.
I specialise in anti-diet, HAES (Health at Every Size) psychotherapy and work with clients to heal their disordered eating, body image, identity and self-esteem issues. I also work with individuals who have Maladaptive Daydreaming.
I work online and by telephone.
Sessions are 50 minutes.
