About me and my therapy practice
I’m a warm, friendly, and relational counsellor and psychotherapist, and I believe that central to meaningful therapy is a strong, trusting relationship. My priority is creating a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard, seen, and understood — whether you're coming to therapy with something specific in mind or simply looking for a place to explore and reflect.
I’m trained to Masters Level 7 in integrative counselling and psychotherapy, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to shape a way of working that fits you. No two people are the same, and I believe therapy should reflect your unique story, needs, and pace.
I often work creatively, and if it feels right for you, we might explore using objects, figures, or the sand tray as part of your therapy. These creative tools can be really powerful, especially when words are hard to find.
I offer both short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, and work with adults either in person or online — whatever feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
If you’re considering therapy and wondering what the next step might look like, I’d love to hear from you. I’m happy to answer any questions and help you get a feel for whether we’d be a good fit to work together.
Practice description
In our work together, my aim is to help you feel truly heard, supported, and gently challenged in ways that lead to meaningful change. I'm someone who asks thoughtful, sometimes challenging questions — always with care, respect, and your wellbeing at the centre. I believe counselling should lead somewhere, so from the very beginning, we’ll explore what changes you’d like to see in your life, and how we can work together to move toward them.
I have a special interest and lived experience in working with neurodivergence — particularly with adults recently diagnosed (medically or self-identified) as being autistic, ADHD, or dyslexic. It can be a big shift to see yourself through a new lens, and I’m passionate about helping people make sense of this, explore what it means for them, and find ways to live in a way that feels more authentic and self-compassionate.
I also have an interest in exploring spirituality and supporting those who have been hurt or harmed by faith-based communities or religious groups — what might be described as spiritual abuse. These are tender places, and I offer a safe, respectful space to gently unpack experiences and reconnect with what feels meaningful for you.
My practice is open to all who are seeking support. Sessions may hold both laughter and tears — all emotions are welcome here. I’ve had a rich and varied life, from working at McDonald’s to being a CEO, and I bring this breadth of experience into the room. I’ve lived and worked abroad and have personal experience of cross-cultural relationships, so I understand what it’s like to navigate different worlds.
Wherever you’re starting from, you are welcome here — just as you are.
My first session
Your first session with me is an important part of the therapeutic journey. It’s a space where we begin to get to know each other and explore what brings you to counselling. We’ll take time to talk about what you’re hoping for, what’s been going on for you, and what you might like to change. Together, we’ll start to identify the aims of our work and begin shaping a focus that feels meaningful for you.
I’ll also explain how confidentiality works in the counselling room and talk you through what you can expect from me as your therapist — and what I would hope for from you in return. This includes how we’ll work together, what you can bring to sessions, and how we can create a safe, respectful space for you to explore whatever you need to.
The first session isn’t just a “pre-therapy” chat — it’s a therapy session in its own right. My hope is that by the end of it, you’ll feel heard, understood, and have a clearer sense of what working together could look like. There’s no pressure to commit on the spot, but this is a chance for both of us to see if it feels like a good fit.
If we both feel confident that the support I offer is right for you, we’ll agree a regular time to meet — either online or in person — that works with your schedule. If, for any reason, I feel that I’m not the best person to support you at this time, I will always do my best to signpost you to someone or somewhere that might be better placed to help.
This is your space, and you set the pace. I’m here to walk alongside you, wherever you are starting from.
