About me and my therapy practice
Welcome! I am a BACP registered counsellor offering sessions in person and online for adults, children and adolescents. I am a warm, empathetic compassionate person who offers a safe and confidential place to talk about any issues or concerns.
Maybe you are struggling with low mood or self-esteem? Suffer from anxiety and worries? In a non-judgemental space, you can explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Counselling is a process to empower you to feel strong again, understand yourself better and can often increase confidence.
Practice description
As a counsellor, my role is to provide a confidential, safe, and calm space where you can share your thoughts and feelings, and together, we can explore your situation. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting—it takes courage to open up to someone new about deeply personal matters.
Through building trust in the therapeutic relationship, therapy can offer you greater self-awareness and a deeper understanding of your relationships. As an integrative counsellor, I tailor my approach to suit you as an individual, drawing on techniques from various therapeutic models to address your unique needs and challenges.
Children and Young People
When working with children and young people, I often incorporate games, art, and other creative activities to help them feel at ease. These tools can be particularly effective because children and adolescents sometimes find it difficult to express their feelings or articulate their challenges through words alone. For adolescents who are comfortable with conversation, sessions may be more discussion-based, allowing us to explore their concerns in a way that feels natural to them.
My approach is always tailored to the individual. Together, we identify the root causes of their difficulties and develop strategies that suit their unique needs, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution.
I follow a child-led approach, allowing them to guide the process. This fosters a sense of safety and trust, making it more effective than pressuring them to discuss specific issues before they are ready.
Therapy should never feel intimidating or overwhelming. It should be a welcoming, non-judgmental space where children and teenagers can explore their emotions in a way that feels manageable and comfortable. Whether through play, creativity, or conversation, my goal is to provide an environment where they can process their feelings and experiences on their own terms.
My first session
It can be daunting to come to therapy but it is so worthwhile so please take the leap. It’s important that you find the right therapist for you or your child. To find out if that’s me, contact me to book in your 15-minute introduction call.
Once we have agreed to work together we would begin our weekly 50 minute sessions.
