HUCS (Heads of University Counselling Services) is a professional network of leaders of counselling and mental health services across UK higher and further education institutions. HUCS meetings offer a collaborative space for sharing expertise, navigating sector-wide challenges, and strengthening the voice of psychological and emotional wellbeing provision within post-compulsory education.

9am morning session. An invigilated home-based assessment providing an entry route for members wishing to join the BACP Register. The computer-based, multiple-choice assessment uses case studies of practice situations to assess the skills, knowledge and abilities required to be a counsellor or psychotherapist. It takes about two hours to complete the assessment.

The Coaching Supervision SIG is striving to raise the profile of dual practitioner supervisors and their role within BACP. Join us in our bi-monthly meetings to discuss best practice in supervision and raise awareness of the challenges faced by dual practitioner supervisors.

This event will aim to help you have a better understanding of difficult situations that may arise when working with clients in an NHS Talking Therapies service or similar environment. We will be exploring better ways of counselling personality disorders and neurodivergence within a mental health service, how we deal with the cost of living pressures on our clients when working on the NHS frontline and how to prevent burnout through self-care.
